NILA Pope Francis made a surprise visit to hundreds of former street children now under the care of Tulay ng Kabataan (TNK).
The video uploaded by the Catholic News Service shows how the children warmly welcomed the Pope.
The pope stayed there for several minutes there after celebrating Mass at the Manila Cathedral on Friday.
He was accompanied by Manila Archbishop Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle.
The former street children, through the help of Cardinal Tagle, invited Pope Francis by writing 1,000 letters months before his scheduled visit to the Philippines.
TNK is a non-government organization that aims to save Metro Manila’s street children from begging, drugs and prostitution.
